A different process
When your Invisalign aligners arrive, you will notice that they differ from conventional dental braces because they resemble gum shields and not the usual blocks, wires and bands associated with dental misalignment correction. The number of aligners produced for your treatment depends on your condition. We will fit your first aligner for you, which may feel a bit tight, to begin with, but this sensation will gradually ease. You must wear each aligner for a minimum of 22 hours a day over 10 to 14 days. You may remove the aligners before brushing your teeth or having a meal. The aligners each have their own orientation, designed to gradually move your teeth to result in a straight and correct bite.
The retainer
At the end of your treatment, you will need to wear a retainer for a few weeks and then less regularly as time passes to ensure that your teeth remain in their new positions. You will be able to display your new, straight teeth with a broad confident smile.
