Regular dental check-ups are an important part of keeping your teeth, gums and mouth healthy.
Routine examinations allow your dentist to spot potential problems early, often before you notice any symptoms. When dental issues are detected at an early stage, treatment is usually simpler, less invasive and more cost-effective.
At Elegance Dental, we utilise advanced iTero 3D scanning technology as part of our preventative approach to dental care. The scanner’s NIRI (Near-Infrared Imaging) technology can help us detect early signs of decay between the teeth, sometimes even before they are visible on X-rays.
Regular visits also allow us to monitor changes in your oral health and check for signs of certain medical conditions that can sometimes first appear in the mouth.
Our focus is on prevention and early detection, helping you maintain a healthy, confident smile for life.
-
Your regular dental examination is about much more than simply checking your teeth. We take the time to look at your overall oral health and make sure everything is healthy.
At each visit, we carefully check your teeth and gums and carry out a soft tissue and oral cancer screening. When needed, we may also take digital X-rays and intraoral photographs to give us a more detailed view.
At regular intervals, we will also carry out an iTero 3D digital scan. This allows us to monitor your teeth and oral health over time, compare changes between visits and help spot potential problems as early as possible.
Once your examination is complete, we’ll show you what we’ve found and explain everything clearly. If any treatment is recommended, we’ll discuss your options with you and create a personalised treatment plan that suits your individual needs.
Our focus is on prevention, early detection and helping you keep your smile healthy for life.

We suggest booking a dental health exam or dental check-ups with our team, as sensitivity can be an early sign of gum disease. During the exam, we'll assess your gums, check for inflammation, evaluate gum recession, and measure periodontal pocket depths. Additionally, a hygiene visit will help keep your smile in top condition.

Flossing is essential because it cleans the tight spaces between your teeth that a toothbrush can't reach. Food particles and debris can become trapped in these areas, leading to plaque buildup. If plaque is not removed, it hardens and becomes difficult to get rid of. Over time, the bacteria in plaque can damage your teeth and gums, resulting in tooth decay and gum disease. Daily flossing helps remove these particles, reduces plaque buildup, and promotes better oral health. Flossing should be done in addition to brushing, not as a replacement.
It’s recommended to brush your teeth twice a day and floss once daily. Flossing before bed is particularly important as it helps lower the risk of dental issues caused by plaque buildup. After any dental treatment, such as veneers or implants, maintaining good oral hygiene, including daily flossing, is crucial.

At Elegance Dental, we believe a beautiful smile should also be a healthy smile that lasts. Whether you would like your teeth to be straighter, whiter or more even, we’ll take the time to understand what you would like to change and create a personalised plan just for you.
Using our advanced iTero Lumina 3D Digital Scanner with Invisalign Outcome Simulator Pro, we can help you visualise your future smile before treatment even begins. You can see a simulation of how your smile could look with straighter teeth and even explore how treatments such as composite bonding or veneers could further enhance the shape and appearance of your smile.
If your teeth are crooked, crowded, misaligned or showing signs of wear, Invisalign clear aligners can gently move them into a healthier position. Improving the position of your teeth can not only transform your smile, but can also help create a more balanced bite and provide a healthier foundation for your smile for the future.
Sometimes straightening is only part of the journey. We can combine Invisalign with professional teeth whitening, composite bonding or veneers to enhance the colour, shape and proportions of your teeth and create a smile that feels naturally yours.
If you have missing teeth, dental implants can provide a strong, natural-looking solution, restoring both the appearance and function of your smile.
Every smile is different, which is why we’ll always recommend the treatment that is right for you, your dental health and your long-term smile.

If you have an active cold sore, we kindly ask that you wait until it has completely healed before attending your dental appointment.
Cold sores are caused by the herpes simplex virus and can be highly contagious. Dental treatment may also irritate the affected area and increase the risk of the virus spreading.
If you develop a cold sore before your appointment, please contact our reception team and we will be happy to rearrange your visit for once it has fully healed.
If you attend the practice with an active cold sore, we will be unable to see you and will need to rebook your appointment for a later date when the cold sore has completely healed.
Thank you for helping us protect you, our team and other patients.
